What Does Couples Therapy Look Like?
Couples therapy begins with a joint session focused on understanding your relationship, your concerns, and what brings you in. This initial session allows space to gather background, identify patterns, and begin clarifying goals.
Following the first session, I typically meet with each partner individually. These individual sessions provide space for open expression, personal history, and a deeper understanding of each partner’s experiences, trauma responses, and relational patterns. From there, the structure of therapy is tailored to the needs of the couple.
There is no single formula for couples therapy because not all couples are the same, and not all relationships function the same way. Traditional, one-size-fits-all approaches often try to fit couples into a box. That’s not how I work.
· Your relationship is unique.

Navigating addiction and its impact on relationships
The work is practical, relational, and grounded in what actually creates change; not blame, quick fixes, or surface-level conversations.
